This wage sharing scheme was originally set up to respond to our employer’s decision to deduct 50% of the salary of comrades who participated in the MAB in 2023. We have decided to amend the wage sharing scheme to support comrades who have their pay deducted following industrial action in April/ May 2025 and any further action as part of this mandate to fight against compulsory redundancies in HUMSS. The aim of the Wage Sharing Scheme scheme is to compensate some of the financial loss that comrades face. The aim is to  complement the contributions from UCU Fighting fund.

We are waiting to hear back from UCU Central to see if our IA will be included in the current UCU Fighting Fund.

The amount we will be able to compensate our striking members will depend on the amount of money we are able to raise from donations.

For every ONE member who has wages deducted for participating in IA, we will need four colleagues to be ready and willing to donate roughly 12% of their daily gross pay. The matching of strikers with wage sharers will be anonymous. 10% of daily gross pay is what we need, but members in challenging financial circumstances can donate less. Every donation counts.

Suggested Donations:

Spinal Point 27-33 £32,994.96- £41,749.62  £12 per strike day

Spinal Point 34-41 £42,998.10 –  £54,420.06 £14 per strike day
